A Jericho Fan Fiction Archive
I am a fan-fiction reading junky and I write for the 'ships that burn my soul. I found Jericho just recently and love the idea of Heather and Jake.
I was driven to start a long character based semi-alt fic dealing with H/J and I nearly have the first chapter done. I hope to be allowed to post this fic here. It is titled, 'Miss Lisinski and the Reformed Bad Boy of Jericho'.
I hope to read and review lots of awesome H/J fics.
I can beta, but I work full time and may not get things out quickly if my work load is too heavy.
What if Heather decided to go to Cheyenne instead of returning to Jericho?
OH! wow! This is a wonderful story.
Favorite part is...
(The truth of the dream's meaning in his subconscious jolted Jake awake. It took another minute for the dream's message to seep into his conscious being.
Once awake, Jake couldn't go back to sleep. His mind was occupied with thoughts of his relationship with Emily. His heart, on the other hand, was full of feelings for Heather.
Jake knew he had to deal with the thoughts in his mind before turning attention to the feelings in his heart.
Tonight, he finally admitted that his relationship with Emily was over. He wasn't able to give her what she wanted, what she seemed to need. She wanted the old Jake back . . . she wanted the same relationship they had before Chris died. She was living in the past while he was looking towards the future. )
Yes, Jake, look to the future! Yipee.
Headed to read more.
Sid
I'm glad that you're enjoying my story! I really enjoy getting into the character's mind, trying to figure out how they would deal with certain situations. I think that while Jake realized he had feelings for Heather, he couldn't pursue them until he ended his realtionship with Emily. I also think that he realized that with Emily, he'd always being living in the past -being someone he no longer was - and that he needed to look toward the future. Thanks for the review.
Yes! Yes! Yes, this is one very compelling story.
Thanks for sharing.
Sid
I'm glad you're still enjoying my story! Thanks for the review.
Who'd have thunk it Hawkin's a Jake/Heather shipper, but I can see it happening that way.
Great story I hope she opens up soon the suspense is killing me.
Sid
I didn't really intend to write Hawkins as a 'matchmaker' but I am having alot of fun with it. I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter. Heather will be opening up soon. You won't have to wait too much longer. Thanks for the review!
Little Jakes...Awwwww! I think it would be poetic if he did only have girls and one was just like him.
Yeah, love this fic bunches and bunches.
Sid
Sid,
Thanks for reading my story! I really like the thought of Little Jakes (and Little Heathers) running around. You are right it would be poetic if Jake had a daughter that was just like him! Thanks for taking the time to review my story!
I love Gray come-upance!
I am loving this and can't wait to read the proposal/nightgown chapter. What a freakin' plot twist for me Joe known Collins.
I can't wait to see season two.
Sid
I'll try not to keep you waiting too long for the proposal! Yes, Joe does know Collins and more on that as the story goes on. Thanks very much for your review!
I really love this story! I guess you shouldn't glut yourself on a bacon cheeseburger with sweet potato fries when you aren't used to real rich food. Either that or Valenti did something to make her sick...Hmmm...Like living and being a perv.
More soon, please.
Sid
A possible explanation for Heather's absence from the episode Red Flag. Definitely Jake/Heather. Definintely AU after Vox Populi.
Awe!!!! I love Jake when he is sweet and protective. I just thought this wa a wonderful J/H Universe. Thank you for sharing and I can't wait for more.
Sid
Thanks, Sid! Hopefully you've discovered that there are 2 sequels to this story now, and Bizarro World is actually its own series. Enjoy!
Here is my alternative universe of Jericho. This story is about as AU as they come. Welcome to my world! Jake plus one comes back home.......
Totally the way I'd see him as a dad.
Reading more...
Sid
I always chose to believe that was all another dream scene in the church. Love this a lot.
Sid
Oh, I love Jake Green and Skeet Ulrich has a mighty fine chest so...Yeah, thanks for including shirtless Jake.
Sid
Not sure I see Heather asking that type of question...Now, Emily...Yeah, she'd lie and chatter.
I always just thought Heather would have asked point blank.
Sid
Oh, Dangerous, how do I love you? Let me count the ways...
Actually that would take way too long, but I love the way you formed this story. I can see a hopeless Jake falling into Emily's fickle arms if he thinks Heather is dead and he looses his father.
I love the shower scene and the whole bit about them always ending up in the bathroom.
I love John Denver and the dancing scene and I love especially this bit...
(When they’d danced together, he’d had to fight the urge to tuck his thumbs in the waistband and…)
Thank you for writing this and I hope for more soon.
Sid
Thank you, Sid! The strange thing about the bathroom is that I didn't really plan it that way, but then it occurred to me that they kept running into each other there, so now I guess that's their special room. LOL.
Love these lines...
The flag was wrong.
And blurry.
And black.
That was my first thought...The flag is wrong! It scared the bajeezus out of me seeing that flag. I couldn't believe that people in the military went along so blindly to fight under a flag that was so wrong.
Thanks for this story...I may have already read this and commented on the story, but you there is nothing like ni-quil to put your brain to sleep.
Sid
Yeah, I remember the first time I saw the ASA flag on my tv screen. I think I must've gasped. Even knowing that the Jericho universe is fictional, the American flag is so engrained into me that to see a different version felt like a perversion. So then that got me to thinking that many people if faced with the reality that the Jericho characters find themselves would be equally apalled.
I've also wondered how the military members would justify carrying a banner different from their own. The only thing I can figure is that with a fractured central government came a fracturing of the military. Soldiers are trained to follow the orders of their C.O.'s, and the chain of command held--sort of.
I love that Gail knows her son well enough to know he is stuck in a rut of allowing himself to be unhappy as though it is all he deserves. I hnave had a boat load, or a chinook load of work this last ten days but this chapter made my shippy heart happy!
I really needed a way to escape real life and your fic is perfect for that!
Thank you for sharing.
Sid
Thank you for your comments, Sid. I thought you brought up an interesting point, which is whether Jake will allow himself to be happy. Is he with Emily because it's the easier thing to do, because he loves her, or is he with her as a way to remain unhappy and therefore, punish himself for all his wrongs? Gail is certainly in an interesting position. She knows Jake better than most, has a vested interest in his happiness, but also knows that he has to make his own decisions. How difficult it must be to remain an oberserver in that situation!
I loved this!
I, also, agree with Marzee that instant gratification is sometimes just what the doctor ordered. I haven't seen season 2 but first thing after work tomorrow that bad boy will be in my hot little hands if I have to go to 300 stores to find it.
I only wish we got a little hotter depiction of them pretending to be married.
Sid (staring off into the mist to imagine this)
I hope you don't mind if I add you to my favorite author's list.
Thank you for your comments, Sid! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I never actually intended to write this story, but sometimes it's nice to have a short diversion while writing a longer piece. Sometimes I toy with the idea of going back and writing some of the events I alluded to in this story but didn't tell in detail (like the time Jake and Heather had in Cheyenne as a pseudo married couple). Alas, real life time limits have prevented me from doing that just yet. Maybe some day...
And of course I don't mind if you add me to your authors list. I'm very honored! :)
Thank you again! And good luck on your quest for season 2!
oh, so sweet! I know they get home. thanks for sharing.
Sid
Thanks!
I'm still working on a possible follow-up to this piece, so hopefully you'll get to see them come home (or not) one day.
Thanks for reading and commenting! :)
What if circumstances were different, and Jake and Heather had met long before the school bus? An alternate version of Jericho in which Jake and Heather are married and expecting. A re-telling of the Jericho episode Black Jack.
Okay been reading this without the desire to stop since I discovered it and I just want to say that I love the way you have woven the past and present into such a compelling alternate universe.
The story is well thought out and excellently written. I wasn't sure how I would like the story without the original charcter connections, but I really have fallen in love with this 'verse of Greens.
Thank you for sharing.
Sid
Thanks so much Sid! I'm glad that you can accept my changes to canon and hope that you can see them as supplemental to the show rather than clashing. It's gratifying to hear that you love my little universe. :-)
A dark and lonely road, a vehicular crash, a world he'd never dreamt of.
Wow! Wonderful, if frightening concept! I can't wait to read more.
Sid
Thanks! I enjoyed taking a darker look at things with this story.
OMG! Achingly sad and heartbreakingly true! I can't wait for more of this fic.
Thanks for sharing!
Sid
Thank you, Obsidianagirl!
Thank you for reading, and for your kind words.
And welcome to the site! I hope you have fun here!
I love the way you wrote this...I can't wait for more.
Thanks for sharing.
Sid
Thanks!
I've had fun writing this, and I so appreciate your words of encouragement.
Thanks for reading and commenting!
Wow! I have really loved this story and was heartbroken that Heather was so badly used and then killed. I liked this angsty story line and hope there is more to come.
Sid
Thank you!
There is more to come, and thanks for reading so far!
On Halloween, two historians visit Jericho.
Attempted a Surprise Reunion With His Daughter The Day She Chose to Touch Up Her Roots He Suffocated Amidst the Peroxide Fumes
This is my favorite one...I always did wonder how she went weeks and weeks without needing her roots touched up...Loved all of these.
Thanks for sharing.
Sid
Thanks, Sid!
Would you believe that Emily's and Jonah's were some of the first epitaphs we came up with? Some things are just too obvious -- and so in need of explanation -- I guess. :-D
-- Marzee
A new tradition begins for two of Jericho's citizens.
I fell hard for these two from episode one. She is what he deserves and needs.
Heather gives Jake unconditional respect and the look in her eyes speaks of her pride in him. Jake needs someone that sees the man he has become not the boy he used to be. I hope you plab to finish this story because it was wonderfully delivered.
Thank you for sharing!
Sid
Thank you for reading and commenting, Sid! I appreciate it!
Like you, I think Heather looks at Jake and sees the man he is now--the man who is selfless, cares more for others than for himself. She does give him unconditional respect, which cannot be said for everyone. She brings out the best in him, and in some ways, I think he's brought out the best in her by making her more confident in her abilities.
Don't worry! I do plan to finish the story. It's just going to be a three-parter. The second part is already completed, and the third is a good portion of the way there.
Thank you again! And welcome to the site, by the way!
Wonderful...It has the air of something that will make my shippy heart go pitter-pat when it is complete...PLEASE, please don't leave me hanging for long. I love that you are dealing with the canon...Braver than I am...I tend to block out things that upset me.
I hope it works out soon...If you need a beta I'm here...I know I am new, but will work for fic.
;o) Sid
Awww...thank you, Sid! I hope the third part will be satisfying to you. I do have it written; right now I'm just tweaking a couple of things, so you shouldn't be left hanging for too long.
As for dealing with canon, it definitely has its limitations. On the other hand, writing this lets me address some of the things that I found bothersome with the second season, so in that respect, it's all works out for me. Granted, the third and final part of this story will not be canon as it--you guessed it--goes another year in the future to well beyond the end of the show.
Thank you again for your comments. :)
