A Jericho Fan Fiction Archive
I'm Anja, a mother of two sons and I live in Germany.
I'm a big Fan of Jericho and Prison Break, but I also like Stargate, The Walking Dead, Criminal Minds, Bones, CSI and so much more... :)
Of course I love movies too - Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Narnia, etc.
As for FanFiction... this is just like a wonderful playground, there are so many possibilities!!!!
I'm obsessed reading FanFics... they add so much to the shows and movies that I love... flesh to the bone... make the beloved characters so much more alive and vivid...
To make it short: I have the faint hope that maybe I can spread this favour... that maybe the things I have in my heart and head may do that little magic for other people too...
But well... we will see... :)
Oh... and I have to mention - I'm no native english speaker, so my writing may be a bit odd... but I have wonderful support from my Beta Nikki in GB and from 2merryann from the USA and now BBC Addict has joined this lovely group - thanks so much, girls, without the help of you I wouldn't dare to publish anything!!!! *sends a lot of hugs & kisses*
Hugs from Germany

What if circumstances were different, and Jake and Heather had met long before the school bus? An alternate version of the Jericho Pilot episode with Jake and Heather in an established relationship.
Hi there, I'm new to this board and a relatively new fan from Jericho (I found the series in May at a fleamarket and fell hard for it! :) )...
I just found your story and have read Chapter 1 - and love it!
Its great how you mix canon / present with your own story / past... :)
I will enjoy the following chapters, I'm sure!
All the best and greetings from Germany

Thank you, Shadowflame! And welcome to The Greens of Jericho. I am glad you're enjoying Differenet Circumstances. We should have enough here to keep yo going for a bit, and I for one am trying to get back to a more regular Jericho-writing schedule.
Thanks for leaving feedback.

What if circumstances were different, and Jake and Heather had met long before the school bus? An alternate version of Jericho with Jake and Heather in an established relationship. A retelling of the Jericho episode Fallout.
So I've learned a new english word today - canoodling... *laughs*
Just knew the british one so far... ;)
Again I love the backstory you made up for those two, my breath caught when I thought Jake would kiss her right away at her porch! Loved it! :)
You will find as you go along that I torture Jake and Heather quite a little bit in this story. :-) But it's good for them, builds character! Thanks for letting me know what you think. :-)

its so nice to see how much Heather you can wrap around the original story... :)
I'm glad she finally told him!
And it was so sweet that Jake had difficulties in asking her out for their first date! *laughs*
Trust me, if there's one thing that I wrote Different Circumstances for it was to put Heather back smack dab in the middle of Jericho where I think she belongs. And I do think she fits well.
Thanks for reviewing, Shadownflame!
Huh, looks like the board ate my review from yesterday evening... ;)
I think I wrote that I really like how you write Jericho and the characters!
I do like Em, but I'm an absolute Jake-Heather-Worshipper and so I'm thankful that you kept the Em-part short and gave us so much of Heather!
And poor Jake was so terrified with leaving Heather at the Saltmine, not knowing if the explosion was to much...
Well done! :)
What if circumstances were different, and Jake and Heather had met long before the school bus? An alternate version of Jericho, in which Jake and Heather are married and expecting. A re-telling of the Jericho episode Walls of Jericho.
Hah - you even had the shower scene in, despite of Heather already being Jake's wife! Love that! :)
And their first date and kiss(es) was brilliant! :)
Well, I couldn't leave out the shower scene, now could I??
Glad you enjoyed my version of their first date and kiss! :-)
""I wanted - I want a child with you, Jake," she told him. "Not by myself, with only my memory of you. With you," Heather repeated. "Please, remember that," she requested."
...have goosebumps now... if this does not get to Jake, nothing will...
Good chapter!
Goosebumps! You really know how rev up a fanfic writer. :-) I live for giving people goosebumps.
Thanks for reviewing!
Ohhh - really "hell" of a first date... so Jake's working for / with the FBI... nice one!
I'm glad that Heather could comfort him a bit... nice background story for Jake! :)
Ohhh - Heather really says what's on her mind, doesn't she? That was almost too much for Jake... *snickers*
Another nice chapter, looking forward to more! :)
What if circumstances were different, and Jake and Heather had met long before the school bus? An alternate version of Jericho in which Jake and Heather are married and expecting. A re-telling of the Jericho episodes Federal Response and (at the very end) 9:02.
I like how you "bend" the original story to fit to your ideas!
Observing Heather's school lesson was nice, it totally fits into how I imagined her!
huh, its almost a week since I read this one via my mobile phone... that was eye-straining! *laughs*
Had no time to review, then... and all I just can say after a week is that I loved their date at the water tower and how they couldn't let go of each other... *smirks*
I think I leave it here and will finally treat myself with reading another chapter after all those busy days... ;)
"Jake Green's guerilla medical testing service." --> OMG - Hahahaha, that's just hilarious! And ick! *Eeeewwwww*
I like the conversation Jake and Johnston had in the den!
Nice first dinner Heather had at the Green's! :)
I will be back for more chapters, but it may take its time because we are moving end of January and it is so much to do... but every now and then I will nip on and treat myself with a chapter, so stay tuned for my reviews! :)
What if circumstances were different, and Jake and Heather had met long before the school bus? An alternate version of Jericho in which Jake and Heather are married and expecting. A re-telling of the Jericho episode 9:02.
I'm back! Finally I found some time, and now I will try to catch up and - of course - leave reviews... ;)
Nice how you put the convo between Jake and Mitch into your story! Loved that little encounter... ;)
Ohhh - red roses from Jake! Very romantic! And don't let Em get you, Heather! She's just jealous...
Ahhh - bleeep... nevertheless Em found a way to poison everything... :(
Nice how you worked Heather in at the barn! Very thrilling the moment Jake tried to get her on the radio!
And I loved the sweet moment between Heather and Johnston, when he needed help but would have been to proud to take it - and Heather turned the tables and stated, that she was the one needing help!
Good chapter, I hope soon I can read more!
That really was a close call with Mitch! And I like how you got into the deep and padded it out with all the threats Mitch spat out!
Don't dare touch Heather! *scowls*
And poor Heather really had a bad day... hopefully talking to Jake can smooth it out! :)
Yes, of course the rumour mill of Jericho is firing now! *laughs*
Oohhh, and Emily found out about the pregnancy, seemed to be really shocked!
;)
Mimi is sooooooooo right: Jake married Heather, didn't he? ;)
Awwww -how cute! I loved the little love letter of Jason... *laughs*
Oh Jeez - cuteness overload - the picnic was sooooo nice... and now I know what you meant with your "warning".... count me in to the ones who wanted to change place with Heather!
Loved it!
:)
"April, as far as he could tell, was keeping the clinic running - barely - with spit and chewing gum, and quite possibly a secret deal with the devil. Anything could go wrong. " --> Wow, I love your wording here! :)
What if circumstances were different, and Jake and Heather had met long before the school bus? An alternate version of Jericho in which Jake and Heather are married and expecting. A re-telling of the Jericho episode Long Live the Mayor.
*laughs* Stanley at the bar was hilarious....
Charlotte! There you go, old girl! *cheers* :)
Great chapter, I really like it how you use the show and give us so much more background, add flesh to the bones!
:)
What if circumstances were different, and Jake and Heather had met long before the school bus? An alternate version of Jericho in which Jake and Heather are married and expecting. A re-telling of the Jericho episode Rogue River, with hints at the Jericho episode The Day Before.
That is one of the best episodes... I love it!
And you are right about the time - it should have been night!
It was really scary how you described it... *shudders*
""Do you mean the massacre of one hundred and forty-two patients and thirty-seven staff at the Fillmore County Hospital?" Dhuwalia questioned harshly. "Floor by floor? Forty minutes of hell?" --> Yeah... massacre is the right word... *shudders again* :(
So April is pregnant, too! :)
I like it that she and Heather are so close...
Ah, I see, you stick to the story and Eric is in love with Mary! Always a predicament for me, because I like April - but I like Mary, too!
I hope April will be ok in your story, though...
And now Jake is waiting for Ravenwood... I hate those guys!
What if circumstances were different, and Jake and Heather had met long before the school bus? An alternate version of Jericho in which Jake and Heather are married and expecting. A re-telling of the Jericho episode Crossroads.
Wow, nice long first part of that chapter!
I loved all your backflashes, they were brilliant! :)
Can't wait to find the time to read more!
Awwww - those Halloween Flashbacks were great!
And in the future everything is coming to a head... can't wait to read more! *jumps up and down in my chair*
ohoh... looks like Jake really hurt Heather with his actions... no wonder with all what had happened... the bombs, Johnston's illness, the future is a leap into the dark, her own pregnancy - what a future will the child have? - and especially now with witnessing the marriage of Eric and April break into pieces and April having - understandably - a breakdown...
Then - knowing - that Jake is someone who puts himself in the first line of danger and then learning about what had happened on the bridge...
All that must wear Heather down... :(
And Jake for sure is in deep, deep trouble right now... I don't want to be in his shoes right now!
But hopefully Jake can fix it somehow... *bites fingernails*
I love that you gave April a background!
I really like her... I think I mentioned it before, it was always difficulty for me - because I like Mary, too!!!!
Jeez... but nevertheless I could have smacked Eric hard - very hard - when he left April!
And I like that April was able to talk Jake around...
Phew...
What if circumstances were different, and Jake and Heather had met long before the school bus? An alternate version of Jericho in which Jake and Heather are married and expecting. A re-telling of the Jericho episode Red Flag.
I'm trying to be back for a bit more!
Hope you are still out there somewhere?????
Awwww - the car wash story was so cute! :)
Again loved the playful couple in love...
Oh, and now Michael arrived! YAY! Heather will be so happy!
Shadowflame,
Thanks so much for reading and leaving reviews. I have to admit that real life has intruded over the last few years and Different Circumstances has languished a bit. But your reviews have been one of the prods that have gotten me going again. I am currently on a writing and plotting streak, and should be posting the next chapter within a week or two.
So THANK YOU for reviewing and for asking if I am still out here. The answer is "Yes!" and there is much more Different Circumstances to come. :-)
Oh my... Heather's brother and his friends have quite a story to tell... and I'm sure they have left out the really bad things... *shudders*
Losing a family member is hard... :(
Poor Heather...
And I wonder what Drake's story is, he really seems to be very troubled... :(
